The wonderful ballroomnotoriety replied to my previous question about horses with the suggestion for this book and this advice:
” Look into “How to Draw Animals” by Jack Hamm. It is the best resource I’ve ever found. Also, try to visit some actual horses and pet them—horses have lots of weird knobs and joints and things that are hard to visualize without first seeing them irl.”
Sorry this is probs formatted badly. On my phone on the shuttle. Will fix this up when I reach home!
I have a copy of this book on my shelf right now, and I heartily recommend it!
… Also going to just reblog this for my personal dog-earing. Awww yeah resources.
I’m fairly rare to reblog things I stumble across, but I felt a compelling social obligation for this one given my state of origin (… and residence).
Above all else, I think fear has been the driving force behind my increased political awareness over the past couple of years, and just the fact that Santorum of all people won down here scares the piss out of me, not withstanding the additional (nearly constant) invention of unconstitutional slop like the Personhood Act and other related hopefully-never-laws concerning “hot” topics like gay marriage or women’s health.
Not all Oklahomans are close minded and/or ignorant, bigoted morons, of course; I know a great many who are splendid people— but the general “masses”? Yeah, uh. Definitely scary, and I’ll be the first to admit it.
/late night ranting aaaagh why
Am I Gay?: A Journey of Self Discovery with Shang.
Ladies and Gentlemen. The main reason I love Miyazaki and his work with all that my heart offers, made into a brilliant 5 pager.
why miyazaki is a genius
“The concept of portraying evil and then destroying it - I know this is considered mainstream, but I think it is rotten. This idea that whenever something evil happens someone particular can be blamed and punished for it, in life and in politics, is hopeless.” - Hayao Miyazaki
This is amazing, and I love the quote too. The villains in Miyazaki’s films are never truly what they seem. I love that. I wonder though, since this idea of good vs. evil is common in Disney and Pixar films, it is quite possible to admire those films and Miyazaki’s, yes? But true, it’s a brilliant philosophy and I love him for it.
cries miyazaki you’re perfect
Aaand once again my love for this man is just all the more reinforced, yup.
